Amina Rizwan holds a MFA degree in Metalsmithing, from Cranbrook Academy of Arts, Michigan, USA, which she pursued after being awarded Fulbright Scholarship. Her works have been exhibited at Galerie Marzee, Netherlands, Cranbrook Art Museum and Forum Gallery, Michigan, Macy’s Gallery, Columbia University, New York and PNCA, Islamabad, Pakistan.
Amina did her Undergraduate in Jewelry Design, from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan, where she graduated with Distinction and Gold Medal . Currently an Assistant Professor at Pakistan Institute of Fashion & Design, Lahore, she also taught at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore for three years. Settled in Lahore, Amina works as an independent artist, contemporary jeweler, and is also a contributing writer for international art and jewelry magazines, such as Art Jewelry Forum.
Believing that art and crafts has a power to transform, inspire and mend social gaps, Amina is also a strong advocate for inclusive education and socio-sustainable causes for the underprivileged and individuals with mild disabilities, through contemporary research and practices associated with art and design literacy. She had been actively involved in curriculum development, art and design pedagogical research in Jewelry Department at BNU and PIFD, where she had mentored students for their thesis research, design developments and production.
